Helps you find calm

For many of us the fertility journey is a challenging one. Whether you are trying naturally or doing Assisted Reproductive Therapies like IVF, or maybe using Natural Therapies like herbs or acupuncture. It can be for some of us a very anxious time.

Yoga for Fertility is a gentle style of Hatha yoga specifically designed to help you manage the stress in your life. I teach simple stress relief techniques and poses to help you become more balanced and calm so that you have the mental and physical stamina to be able to keep going towards your goal of becoming a mother.

The tools that I teach work. I can say this because I used them to make my own fertility journey less stressful. I can also say this because of the feedback I’ve had from many students over the years. Since 2008 I’ve been working with women with fertility issues and have gained valuable feedback from these students. This has enabled me to develop this 4-week course specifically to help women like you – not in a general way, but in a real, tangible and immediate way. See an example...

Mindset Discussions to reframe negative thinking

In the weekly Mindset Discussion classes I talk about a key issues that women face during this time. Those who have taken part in classes at my Sydney studio find these particularly powerful and one of the most valuable aspects of the course. They normalise feelings that many of us face so we don’t feel so alone, and look at how to reframe thoughts to balance negative emotions. See an example...

A tool box of skills

Providing simple, practical self-help tools and techniques, you will learn different skills each week to help manage the stress in your life right now. Some may resonate more than others, and that’s fine. We are all different.

The aim of this course is to help you find tools that work for you, and for you to practice and use those to help you find calm. This is not a one size fits all approach.

Yoga won’t get you pregnant

It’s important to say up front that sadly, yoga will not get you pregnant.

But what yoga can do, in combination with other fertility strategies, is to help you cope with the anxiety and the emotional burden that often accompanies fertility treatments and natural fertility.

We know from research that when you are less stressed you are more fertile. This Yoga for Fertility course has been created to help you reduce tension and anxiety when you most need it.

Your commitment to yourself to practice

There is a saying, ‘the definition of madness is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome’.

If you want to change your life to become happier and more balanced then I can help you. Your commitment to yourself is that you are going to practice the techniques that I teach.

In nearly every case where I’ve spent time with women and they’ve gone on to change their lives to be calmer and happier, it’s because they’ve done the work. They’ve put the time in to understand what is working in their lives and what isn’t. They’ve used the tools that resonated with them and they’ve practiced them. And at the least they’ve found that they are more centred and grounded and happier in themselves.

And sometimes with this change, and a little luck thrown in too, this gives rise to new beginnings and new openings so that your baby can come to you.

Personal Responsibility – that means you!

Your safety is my main concern. But I am not in your body, you are. I will give you constant reminders as we go through our yoga practice about listening to your body and coming out of poses if you feel that you need to rest. Please feel free to adjust yourself, or even miss poses out if they are not appropriate for your body or situation. We are all different and going through different experiences so please listen to your body and only go where you are able.

Please consult your doctor before starting this Yoga for Fertility course, particularly if you have undergone any form of surgery or are under medication. Yoga is founded on the development of self-awareness, including each individual’s awareness of their own physical capabilities and limitations.

You need to retain full responsibility of your own physical and psychological wellbeing both during and outside of this course. Yoga instruction is provided strictly on that basis, and no responsibility will be taken by the yoga teacher for any injury or loss suffered by you in practice, during or outside of class.
